What is plagiarism and where can I find information about it?
Answer
Plagiarism is the technical term for taking someone else's intellectual property such as words, ideas, or thoughts and passing them off as your own. Paraphrasing, summarizing, and citing sources are a few ways to lessen the chance of plagiarizing a source. To learn more, please see the Plagiarism and Ethical Use of Information library guide.
Some Athens State University faculty use Turnitin, a plagiarism checker tool. For questions regarding TurnItIn, please ask your professor.
